Camping?

So as part of our mission to enjoy as much of Florida as possible over the next few months we decided to go camping at Fort DeSoto. It sounded like a good idea, and in theory it was, except for the fact that sleeping in a tent with a baby in August in Florida can pose a few challenges. When we first arrived and set up camp things were looking good. We were right on the water and were enjoy watching the dolphins play when we heard some weird sounds to only discover a family of racoons had decided to join us. At first we thought they were cute until they started biting and attacking each other so Caitlyn and I ran into the tent and Eric got into the car and honked the horn until they finally left. We headed off for a bike ride and swim in the gulf. Caitlyn loved it!!! She is definitely a beach babe. Then, by the time we decided to head back for dinner the sun was already setting so we had to barbecue in the dark with racoons trying to steal our food. We ate in the dark in the tent because we didn't bring a lantern and then we "slept" in the sauna of our tent with a baby that was up all night :) Caitlyn and I escaped with a ton of bug bites but we finally used the tent we got two years ago for Christmas and that is the important part.
