Fun in the Sun

We have been living the good life lately. A few weeks ago we decided to go to Orlando for the weekend and go to Universal Studios Island of Adventure. It was a hot day but we had fun. I finally got to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Oh yeah!! We had fun visiting with Grandpa Scott, Lexy, Holly, Jason, Jessica and Audrey! A couple of weeks ago Caitlyn attended a birthday party at a splash park and could not get enough! She is fearless when it comes to the water and was crawling all over the place, in between the older kids, and through the big sprays face first. She would have stayed all day if I had let her. Then last week we went to the aquarium in Tampa. We went when Caitlyn was just a couple of months old but this time she was much more aware and was so excited to see the animals and the fish. The best part is the aquarium has a splash park too so she got to have some more time in the water...her favorite.

Happy September 2011

Camping?

So as part of our mission to enjoy as much of Florida as possible over the next few months we decided to go camping at Fort DeSoto. It sounded like a good idea, and in theory it was, except for the fact that sleeping in a tent with a baby in August in Florida can pose a few challenges. When we first arrived and set up camp things were looking good. We were right on the water and were enjoy watching the dolphins play when we heard some weird sounds to only discover a family of racoons had decided to join us. At first we thought they were cute until they started biting and attacking each other so Caitlyn and I ran into the tent and Eric got into the car and honked the horn until they finally left. We headed off for a bike ride and swim in the gulf. Caitlyn loved it!!! She is definitely a beach babe. Then, by the time we decided to head back for dinner the sun was already setting so we had to barbecue in the dark with racoons trying to steal our food. We ate in the dark in the tent because we didn't bring a lantern and then we "slept" in the sauna of our tent with a baby that was up all night :) Caitlyn and I escaped with a ton of bug bites but we finally used the tent we got two years ago for Christmas and that is the important part.

Goodbye Maryland!

I just realized that I never published this post when I originally drafted it months ago but the pictures were too cute so I am going to go ahead and post it now. This is Vanessa's graduation day and Caitlyn was so happy to be there to celebrate with her Aunts and Grandma and Grandpa Fisher! Thanks again for letting us stay with you over the summer!

St. Augustine

Eric graduates from PA school in a few months and we aren't sure where we are headed but we feel like we should see as much as Florida as we can before the end of the year. Eric's brother Jason was completing a rotation for med school in Jacksonville so we thought we would take advantage of the oportunity to go up to St. Augustine. We have been talking about going ever since we moved here and we're so glad that we finally did. We loved it! St. Augustine is the oldest city in the U.S. colonized by the Spanish centuries ago. It had a little bit of European flare with some Florida flavor. We stayed in a cute little bed and breakfast for the weekend and Jason, Jessica and baby Audrey came down to visit for the day. It was a great weekend and we took a ton of pictures so beware.
